Welcome to my home page! It's still under construction, so there will
be more coming soon. Feel free to browse through what is here, and if you want

Who I am and what I do with my time...
My full name is Jolene Renee Harrell. I'm a 20-year-old college sophomore at Southern Adventist University (SAU), where I am majoring in print journalism and minoring in music. (I wanted none of that unbalanced music major stuff !) My home is in Port Charlotte, Florida, where I have lived for most of my life. I have a brother, Ryan, who is sixteen and whom, I admit, I really miss!
I am a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, and have attended private schools all of my life. I attended a small junior academy in Port Charlotte until tenth grade. Then I left home to attend Georgia-Cumberland Academy, a boarding school an hour north of Atlanta, Georgia, where I graduated in 1998. Somehow I got really lucky and was chosen as a National Merit Finalist, which has provided me with a full-tuition scholarship at SAU.
The most time-consuming of my hobbies is music. I have played the flute for ten years, and am a member of the SAU Symphony Orchestra, which toured in Ireland this past May. (Pictures will be coming soon!) I have done many solo and duet performances, and have developed a love for classical music. I also enjoy singing. In fact, I played Maria in a high school performance of "The Sound of Music."
As is obvious from my print journalism major, my passion is writing, both as a hobby and, someday, a career. I am also a serious bookworm. (Some of my favorite books are Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlett Letter, anything by John Grisham, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, and, I'll admit it, Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott.) I also love hiking in the beautiful Tennessee mountains, and spending time with my boyfriend, Jonathan Sharp. (We met in academy and have been very happily dating for 2 years.)
As I mentioned, my religious beliefs are Seventh-day Adventist. This includes the belief that the seventh day (Saturday, for those of you who lose track!) is the true day of worship. I also know Jesus, God's Son and my Savior, is coming back VERY SOON to take those who love Him to heaven.
I am a registered Republican, although I am considering changing to independent. I generally am a conservative, but I definitely do not claim all Republican views as my own. I am a firm believer in seperation of church and state, I am pro-life (although I'm horrified at the behavior of many who share this view), and I think President Clinton should have been removed from office!
So there you have it, who I am and what I believe in a nutshell. Hope you enjoyed reading a little about my life!
My friends...
Hopefully there will be pictures coming to this section soon...
The kind I perform and the kind I listen to...
I enjoy a lot of different kinds of music. I love classical, jazz, alternative Christian, and some secular alternative. Here are a few links relating to my favorite music.

And these Christian bands' pages:
